Factory Manager – Fresh Food / Fresh Produce – London
Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 per annum based on experience
Due to continued growth and significant contract wins, our client, a BRCGS grade AA site specializing in prepared ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook foods, is seeking an experienced Factory Manager to lead their dynamic team. Reporting to the Technical and Manufacturing Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of their factory.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a team of circa 60 staff members across shifts, ensuring operational excellence.
* Coordinate the factory to meet daily production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements.
* Implement Continuous Improvement processes and drive major change programs for long-term growth.
* Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure effective communication and problem resolution.
* Analyse production data to identify and resolve issues, focusing on cost-effective operations and waste reduction.
* Administer holiday shift patterns, HR liaison, and handle other ad-hoc tasks as necessary.
Key Requirements:
* Minimum GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Mathematics; Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Management, Logistics, or related field (Desirable).
* Proven management experience in Manufacturing or Production, especially in fresh food processing.
* HACCP and food safety management training experience.
* Solid process efficiency, redesign skills, and change management experience.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; knowledge of ERP/MRP software (Desirable).
* Excellent communication skills, relationship-building, and leadership experience.
* Ability to work under pressure, challenge processes, and think strategically.

Working Hours:
* Any 5 out of 7 days, 40 hours per week.
* Core Hours: 6.00 am to 11.00 pm.
* Flexibility required for occasional evening, night, and weekend working.
