Warehouse Assistant / Driver

Are you an experienced warehouse assistant / driver looking for a varied role within a busy trade merchant?

We’re recruiting for a Warehouse Assistant / Driver to join a successful branch team, where you’ll play a key role in delivering excellent customer service, ensuring products reach customers on time and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the branch.

This is a varied, hands-on position that combines driving, warehouse duties and customer service. You’ll be delivering products to customers, helping in the warehouse and, when required, supporting customers on the trade counter and over the telephone.

The Role

You’ll report into the branch management team and become an important part of the branch operation. As well as making deliveries safely and efficiently, you’ll help ensure stock is handled correctly, the warehouse is well organised and customers receive a first-class service.

You’ll also have the opportunity to support the wider branch team with sales and customer service, helping to maximise every opportunity and build strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities
Safely and professionally deliver products to customers on time
Comply with all transport, health & safety and legal requirements
Load, unload and manage stock within the warehouse
Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the warehouse and trade counter
Serve customers on the trade counter when required
Assist with telephone sales and customer enquiries
Support the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager in achieving sales and service targets
Help create and maintain strong, loyal customer relationships
Work closely with colleagues to ensure the branch operates efficiently

About You

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, professional and customer-focused, with a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to get stuck in.

You’ll ideally have:

A full, clean driving licence
Previous warehouse, delivery or merchant experience
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
A strong commitment to customer service
A flexible approach to working hours and changing priorities
A team-focused attitude and willingness to support colleagues
Good communication skills and a professional manner
